Shearings’ ten day break offers so much – vineyards, historic towns and two of Europe’s most beautiful rivers.
Firstly, your luxury coach will take you to the vibrant city of Cologne. Whilst there you have free time to explore the city’s sights, including an imposing cathedral.
Then you will meet the MV Virginia – your cruise ship that will take you deep into the Rhine Valley. Enjoy the entertainment and refreshments onboard as the cruise ship passing mile-after-mile of enticing scenery.
The initial stop is Koblenz, marking the start of the Rhine valley. Then onto historic Rudesheim, full of wine houses, restaurants and open-air taverns. Next stop is Winningen, well-known for the oldest wine festival in Germany.
Leaving the Rhine for the Moselle, you will visit historic Cochem and the impressive Reichsberg Castle. Arguably, the highlight of the cruise is Cochem’s wine festival. You will be treated to many varieties of local wine and a spectacular firework display above the castle.
Finally, you will stop at Andernach, steeped in Roman history, where you will have a farewell dinner onboard the MV Virginia.
