After an over night stay the coach will travel through the incredibly scenic Rhine Valley to Cologne, home to a twin-spire Gothic cathedral.
Then on to Heidelberg, a famous university town with an attractive old town. On day four is the highlight of the tour – Oberammergau. After a morning at leisure in the village you will be given return transfers to the 41st performance of the Passion Play performed by the Oberammergau natives.
The next three days take in some of the finest attractions Austria has to offer. A journey through the mountainous Tyrol concludes with a visit to historic Innsbruck and then to Salzburg, famous as the birthplace of Amadeus Mozart and as the setting of ‘The Sound of Music’. Finally there is Lake Achensee, the Tyrol’s largest lake which offers superb views.
