Since the Middle Ages Lille has held the Flea Market and now over one million bargain hunters and antique aficionados visit each year. The city centre is given over to two-hundred kilometres of pavements covered in stalls of all kinds from all over the world, ten thousand exhibitors and thirty-three continuous hours of trading over the first weekend in September.
Gold Crest Holidays give you two days to browse and find those bargains and they will take you into the centre from their local hotel on both days. Each year the stallholders compete to collect the most empty mussel shells from the five-hundred tonnes consumed over the weekend.
