Leger’s eight-day coach tour brings you the stories and places behind some of the most iconic symbols of World War Two.
The first included excursion is to the Mõhne Dam where the 617 squadron of Lancaster bombers used the famous bouncing bomb to destroy the dam. Next you will travel to Colditz, where the Germans put the most notoriously slippery POWs, including Douglas Bader, who were then to engineer many ingenious escape attempts.
On day Five you will be taken to the Polish POW cap at Zagan where the legendary Great Escape was planned and carried out. There are also included visits to Berlin and its cemetery and wartime ruins and Arnhem, location of the failed ‘Operation Market Garden’ invasion. Finally, perhaps you can add on the various optional excursions, including a journey one thousand feet up into the Swiss Saxony region and a Berlin By Night guided tour.
